Verify a team

Enter a team number to confirm that a dog and handler completed this program, when, and whether the team’s status is current.

On the graduation certificate and the dog’s harness tag. Dashes and capitalisation do not matter.

This is not a service dog registry. No such thing exists in United States law. No agency registers, certifies or licenses service dogs, and no business, landlord, carrier or airline may require a handler to produce a registration, certificate or ID — from us or from anyone.

“A public accommodation shall not require documentation, such as proof that the animal has been certified, trained, or licensed as a service animal.”

28 CFR 36.302(c)(6) · same rule for government entities at 28 CFR 35.136(f)

What this page confirms is narrower: that a specific team trained here. That matters where a program’s own certificate does carry weight — VA recognition under 38 CFR 17.148(c)(1), Canadian carriers under the ATPDR, and Mexican law, which defines a service animal by its certification.

Lost your team number
Write to us through the contact page and we will confirm it to the handler of record. We do not confirm team numbers to third parties.
A status looks wrong
Statuses change when a dog retires, a team withdraws, or a dog can no longer perform its tasks. The handler of record can ask us to correct it.
Privacy
We never publish a handler’s name, address or medical information. The file behind this lookup holds only a fingerprint of each team number, so valid numbers cannot be read out of it.
